Reflection

Sally:

I think on this unit we all did a fair amount of work, we all had our different aspect to write about we helped each other out. What I contributed the most in was the pictures, I took pictures for  my group in the last 3 trips but I still think my contribution still needs developing, because I only did few writings while the rest of my group members did more.
Focusing on Task was good, I finished all my work on time and did my work in lesson but again it still needs developing although I get my work done if I had stayed on my task maybe I could have written more.

I developed on both of my targets, I know this because in the beginning of the week I mostly took pictures instead of writing after our trips are done I had trouble writing so my group wrote most of the things but slowly afterward I started to write more and more thats how I developed my contribution. As for focusing on task its was the same like contribution in the beginning of our unit after a few week I started to become more focus on my task.

I learnt that Hong Kong health is ok, there are a lot of places to exercises in Hong Kong parks and gym but there are also places that are unhealthy to our bodies. For example Aberdeen the hike in Aberdeen might have been healthy but once you reached the end of the hike there are a lot of fast food places so its unhealthy but overall I think Hong Kong’s health is good.

Sam:

In this unit I have improved and have become a better leader I lead the group most of the time since we had to switch roles but that was my main role. I kept my group on task helped one another and ended up having a good website. At first when Mrs Lant allocated me to a group I would of thought it would be hard work because I felt uncomfortable, some of them I haven’t worked with before. But after the next couple of weeks we started working well with one another and each contributed quality work and helped one another.

Me myself, I still need to take what I can do with my group and share it to the class and not be too modest. I have also improved with others working with people I haven’t worked with before I have shown that I can do it in this unit. One other thing that was an issue in our group was our time management we always needed a bit more time to finish up our work.

I think maybe we needed some one to remind us what time it was and to not loose track of time we got a bit carried away in our work and sometimes got distracted by other classmates. I think I have developed most of these aspects but still need to improve on my time management and try and not get distracted by other things and focus on the task.

Alicia:

The aspects I wanted to develop over these weeks was preparedness and problem solving because I usually do things last minute and my problem solving skills need more development, I want to work on generating different alternatives and acting on them.

I think I developed these aspects over the course of the unit and I know this because I always finished my tasks and homework in time. I also worked on my problem solving because the problems we had in the beginning were that our group didn’t communicate as much, but now we have learnt a lot together and communicate better. I have also improved my individual learning and reasearching as well as my leadership skills because I had the chance to become director during some of the field trips.

Health in Hong Kong is very easy to achieve if we all work together to spread awareness about the issues that put HK’s citizen’s health at risk, I learnt a lot about obesity in Hong Kong as well as pollution and how to help solve these issues.

Tiffany:

During the course of this unit, I decided to focus on developing my ‘Contributions’ and ‘Working with Others’ Skills.

I feel like I’ve had developed on these aspects because I’ve begun to contribute a bit more in group discussions as well as being able to get along pretty well with my group for the most part.

Although I probably didn’t develop on these skills as much as I’d hoped, I’m pretty satisfied with my end result as I have learned a lot more about health in Hong Kong and had been able to take this chance to work on my cooperation skills.

I think I could do better next time in terms of communicating by participating more in class time and voicing my opinion more often and more persistently instead of just letting it pass.

Even though ‘Monitors Group Effectiveness’ and ‘Time Management’ wasn’t the original skills I decided to develop on, I still think I’ve managed to improve and develop on it.

Some evidence of this is shown during this unit when I helped monitor group effectiveness by going around to help some of my teammates to get the task done on time as well as being able to manage my own time more efficiently and wisely.

I learnt a lot during this unit about health in Hong Kong such as the provisions the government has taken to improve health in HK, how they have done it, what we us a country can do to promote health in HK and other things related with our personal issues like ‘obesity’ ‘fast food’ ‘light pollution’ ‘air pollution’ and ‘marine pollution’.

I really enjoyed this unit because of all the new and different opportunities we’ve had, such as working in groups, going on field trips, and getting to take different roles. I had a lot of fun and hope to do more work like this in the future.

Ryan:

Reflection In this unit I been more focused when doing my work and I have done more work in these few weeks. I focused more on the technical part and that i got all the videos done when the photos where sent to me. Sam did a decent job on leading the group, Alicia and Tiffany did a very good job on writing part. Sally also did a decent job on the photos. I spent most of my time working on the videos and my reflections. I could improve by spending a bit more time on the writing part and trying to encourage other people to try different roles because I was a bit stubborn and I wanted to keep my role as the IT person.
